Rio Rancho City Center

Rio Rancho City Center

Pedestrian oriented streets connect a core of small blocks to multi-modal corridors adjacent to a future rail station. Linear parks, pedestrian linkages and bike paths connect to adjacent developments and a regional arroyo system that will be developed as open space.

The City of Rio Rancho created a new downtown for the growing city in the high desert of northern New Mexico. The site is adjacent to a University of New Mexico branch campus and provides for a mix of housing, employment, entertainment, shopping, and government uses.

As the Urban Design lead, Kellogg + Associates led a team of consultants through a process involving multiple agencies and stakeholder groups.
